Ann Nyakio, as Country Director at CCK, leverages 15 years of dedicated program management expertise. Since 2015, she has been at the forefront of CCK’s mission to eradicate clubfoot-induced disabilities. With a solid foundation in Anthropology and Project Management, coupled with her ongoing pursuit of an MBA in Strategic Management and Global Social Sustainable Enterprise, Ann brings a wealth of knowledge to her role.

In her personal life, Ann finds strength and support in her loving family. Married to a supportive husband and blessed with two cherished children, they serve as a wellspring of inspiration. This profound connection fuels her passion for CCK’s mission and drives her commitment to making a tangible difference in communities. Ann’s unwavering dedication and extensive experience underscore her pivotal role in driving forward CCK’s humanitarian efforts.

Isaac Mutua Makau

Counseling Coordinator Kenya

Isaac Mutua Makau, Head of Counseling Services at Clubfoot Care for Kenya, brings a profound passion for counseling and ministry. He finds joy in the spiritual connections forged between caregivers and families, enveloped in the comforting presence of Christ. Isaac’s commitment extends beyond physical transformation; he provides unwavering psychosocial support to families throughout the treatment journey.

With distinguished master’s degrees in community care and HIV/AIDS, as well as Christian counseling, Isaac navigates counseling services with expertise and sensitivity. His journey with Clubfoot Care for Kenya began in November 2016, marked by a deep-seated dedication to those he serves. Beyond his professional life, Isaac embraces adventures and meaningful connections with diverse individuals. A humanitarian at heart, he actively engages in charitable endeavors, seeking to make a tangible difference. Cherishing moments with his beloved children, Isaac finds solace and rejuvenation in their cherished company.

Christine Mumbi

Finance & Administration Assistant

Christine Mumbi, Finance & Administration Assistant at CCK, brings over 11 years of expertise in Finance and Project Management. With a proven track record, she excels in meticulously developing and implementing project plans, overseeing processes, and effectively managing grants, budgets, and financial reports. Outside of her professional endeavors, Christine cherishes family life with her husband Michael and their two sons, Liam and Owen. Together, they engage in playful activities, exploratory journeys, movie nights, and delightful culinary creations. Her guiding inspirations are rooted in love, laughter, and a zest for life.

Christine finds her motivation at CCK in witnessing tangible transformations, instilling hope, and exceeding expectations. With a background in Bachelors Of Commerce; Finance, CPA K certification, and proficiency in various accounting packages, she is equipped to make meaningful contributions to the CCK family.

Victoria Kimathi

Clinical Supervisor Kenya

Victoria is deeply devoted to pediatric physiotherapy, showcasing her commitment through academic achievements and hands-on experience. She holds a BSc in Physiotherapy from Tumaini University and a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Jomo Kenyatta University. Additionally, she completed a postgraduate diploma in Pediatric Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town.

In her role as Clinical Supervisor at Clubfoot Care for Kenya (CCK), Victoria trains healthcare professionals in the Ponseti method and offers guidance to clinicians in partnering clubfoot clinics across Kenya. Her dedication extends to research, evident in her coordination of an ongoing brace study and subsequent publication in the East Africa Medical Journal. This amalgamation of academic pursuit, practical expertise, and unyielding passion makes Victoria an invaluable asset to the CCK family.

Erick Mwangi

Assistant Clinical Supervisor, Clubfoot Care for Kenya

Erick, the Assistant Clinical Supervisor at Clubfoot Care for Kenya (CCK), brings four years of pediatric health experience to his role. Proficient in non-surgical clubfoot management, specializing in the PONSETI technique, he holds a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery. As the eldest of three siblings, Erick treasures his role as a devoted brother and son, drawing unwavering support and motivation from his family. He deeply values CCK’s holistic approach, particularly the dedicated Parent Advisor for vital psychosocial support.

Advocating a growth mindset, Erick finds purpose in witnessing the tangible impact of clubfoot treatment, which not only achieves optimal results but also alleviates burdens on families. This strengthens his commitment to CCK and fuels his sense of purpose in contributing to the well-being of those affected by clubfoot. With his expertise and dedication, Erick plays a vital role in the mission to create a clubfoot-free world.

Esperance Uwizeye

Chairperson

Esperance Uwizeye, Programs Director at Hope Walks, brings over 15 years of extensive experience in international INGOs and governmental organizations, specializing in public health and disability. Trained as a physiotherapist and public health officer, she excels in project management and capacity building. Since 2009, Esperance has played a crucial role at Hope Walks, including directing the Gahini Rehabilitation Centre in Rwanda during her tenure with CBM organization.

In her personal life, Esperance finds immense joy in raising her two beloved children. Her deep compassion for children with clubfoot fuels her dedication to CCK. Her expertise in NGO activities coordination is a valuable asset to CCK’s collaborative efforts. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Mount Kenya University (MKU), a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from Kigali Independent University (ULK), and a Diploma in Physiotherapy from the University of Rwanda (UR). Currently, she is pursuing an MBA at Mount Kenya University (MKU).

Christine K. Ngui

Treasurer

Christine, a Regional Manager at Hope Walks in Africa, plays a crucial role in overseeing program finances. Her meticulous record-keeping, policy compliance, and robust internal controls ensure financial integrity. Christine also manages operations for programs in Kenya, Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zambia. With a Masters in Finance from Kenyatta University and extensive training in Programs and Project Management, she brings substantial financial expertise. Her 13-year background in Accounting and Finance, along with her role as Treasurer of the CCK board, underscore her proficiency.

Beyond her professional commitments, Christine finds joy in family picnics, cherishing these moments. Her deep commitment to impacting individuals and communities affected by clubfoot is evident in the fulfillment she gains from contributing to their well-being. In her multifaceted role, Christine blends financial stewardship with heartfelt dedication, leaving a mark on the journey towards a clubfoot-free world.

Peter Karanja

Board Member

Peter Karanja, a dedicated advocate against clubfoot for over 14 years, began his journey in 2009 with training at AIC Cure International Children Hospital. From Cure Clubfoot Kenya to his current role at Hope Walks Kenya, Peter’s commitment has never wavered. Supported by his partner Stella Njeri and their three children, Peter draws strength from a deeply personal experience with clubfoot and spinal issues faced by their own child in 2007. This ignited his unbreakable commitment to stand with others on similar journeys, transcending individual challenges to offer hope and healing.

As a Parent Advisor, Peter not only forms vital connections but also spearheads collaborative efforts and provides empathetic support. In Nairobi, he is an indispensable cornerstone of the Hope Walks family, leaving a lasting impact that extends far beyond geographic boundaries. His story embodies the enduring power of one individual’s determination to drive change.

Dr. Joseph Theuri Macharia

Board Member

Dr. Joseph Theuri Macharia, a distinguished Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, brings nearly 25 years of expertise from AIC CURE International Hospital in Kijabe. Since 2003, he has focused on orthopedic surgery, specializing in pediatric cases since 2009. Dr. Theuri envisions a future where each Kenyan county houses a top-tier Clubfoot Treatment Clinic, ensuring all children under two receive necessary care, regardless of financial circumstances. He aims for Clubfoot Care for Kenya to be a center of excellence for training, research, and staying at the forefront of clubfoot management.

His impact extends beyond direct patient care, as he played a pivotal role in founding the Clubfoot Care for Kenya program in 2005. This initiative has inspired similar global efforts through CURE Clubfoot and Hope Walks, solidifying Dr. Theuri’s legacy in advancing clubfoot treatment through training, research, and knowledge-sharing.

Ann, the Secretary of the Clubfoot Care for Kenya (CCK) board, brings over 15 years of expertise in international organizations and governmental bodies, specializing in public health and disability. Trained in physiotherapy and public health, she excels in project management and capacity building. Since 2009, Ann has been an integral part of CCK, contributing significantly to the mission of eradicating clubfoot-induced disabilities.

Her proficiency in coordinating NGO activities enhances CCK’s collaborative efforts with partners. Ann’s academic achievements include a Master’s degree in Public Health from Mount Kenya University (MKU), a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from Kigali Independent University (ULK), and a Diploma in Physiotherapy from the University of Rwanda (UR).
